Threadfin Rainbowfish make superb additions to the peaceful softwater community aquarium. They are best maintained in small groups, ideally of at least 6 specimens, with two females to every male. The females are very pretty fish, but it is the males with their elongated dorsal and anal finnage that are the most eye-catching. Keeping a mixed sex group often results in the males displaying quite stunning colouration whilst displaying to the females, so as to ‘out-do’ rival males.
